What we walked into
17-year-old Goodman unit running R-22 refrigerant (no longer manufactured). Homeowner reported the system was running 16+ hours a day in July without cooling below 84°F. Compressor showing electrical draw 30% above spec. Refrigerant lines visibly corroded; previous contractor had topped off refrigerant three times in two years without diagnosing the leak.
What we did
